Blaine Stephenson Medical Expenses

Donation protected
On January 8th 2017, Blaine and a fellow racer Matt Goede were both injured in a snowmobile accident in Ironwood Michigan.  Blaine's injuries resulted in having a severe concussion, skull fractures and brain bleeds that hopefully over time will resolve on there own. His knee and arm are not broken just bruised but they are keeping an eye on them due to swelling. The most damage he sustained was to his face, mostly his right side. They stitched up the lacerations last night but after another scan this morning the Ear, nose and throat specialist determined that he should have surgery to fix the facial fractures and broken nose. His left eye is also swollen and black and blue. We still need to meet with a speech therapist to go over his concussion. He will be evaluated once he gets to the hospital.

Blaine was transferred from the hospital in Wausau to the University of Minnesota where he will receive his surgery. We are unsure of how long Blaine’s hospital stay will be and what costs will be incurred up and above what insurance will cover.

While Blaine is being treated and evaluated his family will be staying with him, the length of the recovery for Blaine and his family is unknown at this point.

Any financially help big or small is graciously appreciated

Thank you to everyone who has reached out to Stephenson family/team. The support is greatly appreciated as the road to recovery has just begun.
