A haircut for a smile

Hello everyone,

We are fundraising to provide queer/trans/non-binary people in need with free haircuts this winter. 

We strongly believe that a haircut can make a crucial difference in a person's mental health. Since this winter is going to be rough for all of us, we want to make sure that those who are particularly vulnerable feel seen, cared about and included. We want to make sure, they know we love each and everyone in our community and we want to share our hope for a brighter future with those who are struggling right now.

What is BUTCH CUT? 
We're a small queer community-building art project and barbershop in Berlin. 
Over the past 5 years, we have heard time and again from our customers that they had a more
hopeful mindset after a haircut than when they came in. That getting a good haircut feels like dusting off the soul. Our Instagram pictures are a testimony to this: BUTCH CUT on Instagram 

At first we were inspired by a donation that was there to offer a few free cuts before Christmas. Then
we just wanted to offer a few additional free cuts in January, but shortly after we put this fundraiser
online, we received 600€ from GEGEN BERLIN CREW. Now our new goal is to reach 3000€ so we can
exchange lots of cuts for smiles over the next 3 months (January-March 2021).
