Friends Helping Friends

To know Darlene (Tompkins/Taylor) Ziembo is to love her. That's why I'm  fundraising for her. Period. End of story.  Well, I wish the story could end right there, but the truth is, Dar needs a little help from her friends. On September 29, 2021 her 18 year old son, Mark, was in an accident in the woods while cutting down a tree. In an instant his life and the lives of everyone who loves him changed forever. He is paralyzed from the waist down. He is currently at DMC RIM, a top notch rehab hospital in Detroit. His insurance will cover his recovery, but will not help with costs to make his life handicap accessible.. While we are all thankful that he is alive and, with a lot of hard work, will live a long and fulfilling life, the immediate need is to retrofit Dar and Don's condo so that they can bring Mark home. Renovations will include widening doorways, updating bathroom shower so that it's barrier free, building ramps to get inside, and replacing carpeting with flooring that will make moving around in a chair much easier. Any extra funds raised will be used toward purchasing handicap assessible transportation for Mark.. If you are able, please make a donation.
