Emergency Relief for Bangladesh Flood Victims

Millions of people are suffering due to the severe flooding in northeastern Bangladesh. We urgently need global assistance to support relief efforts. The Greater Vancouver Bangladesh Cultural Association (GVBCA) is calling on everyone in British Columbia, Canada, and around the world to help support those affected by this disaster. GVBCA plans to donate all collected funds to the 'প্রধান উপদেষ্টার ত্রাণ ও কল্যাণ তহবিল', সোনালী ব্যাংক কর্পোরেট শাখা, প্রধান উপদেষ্টার কার্যালয় at হিসাব নম্বর: ০১০৭৩৩৩০০৪০৯৩.

The funds we collect will go directly towards:

Emergency Relief Supplies: Providing food, clean drinking water, and hygiene kits to families in desperate need.

Rescue, Shelter, and Reconstruction: Rescuing stranded families, helping displaced families with temporary shelter, and providing resources to rebuild their homes.

Medical Aid: Ensuring access to healthcare and medicine to prevent the outbreak of diseases in flood-affected areas.

Long-Term Recovery: Supporting initiatives that will help the most vulnerable communities rebuild their lives and livelihoods once the floodwaters recede.

For full transparency, and for our patrons to know how the funds are being managed, here is our process:

The funds will be transferred to our president's account, Rashadul Islam Mahmud, who is going to transfer them to our GVBCA account. This two-step approach makes it easier for our team to oversee transactions because we are unable to make payments directly to the GVBCA account. After receiving the funds in the GVBCA account, we will send them to Bangladesh, where they will be given to the Bangladeshi government. Moyn Uddin Sany (general secretary) and Tanjim Islam (treasurer) will supervise all of the transactions and fund transfers, as these two members are in charge of fund distribution. This approach ensures a safe and supervised system of fund distribution, with no mistakes.
