Earlier today, my uncle passed away after his fight with cancer. He was such a loving family man, and recently became a grandfather for the first time, which brought him so much happiness. It’s been a huge loss not just for his kids and wife, but for all of us in our extended family who loved him dearly.

One of the things I’ll always remember about him was his creativity. He had such an artistic eye and could make any space feel special. Whenever we were in the Philippines, he was the one who would decorate the house and add those little touches that made everything look beautiful. I’ve always admired that about him, and I’ll always cherish those memories. He was someone you could count on, and our family feels the weight of his absence deeply.

Because he lived in the Philippines, where resources are limited, covering funeral expenses has been really difficult for his immediate family. My mom is doing her best to support them, but the costs are overwhelming. Her other brother has also been diagnosed with cancer, and she’s been investing in both his chemo as well as my other uncle’s hospital bills. I wanted to start this GoFundMe to help take some of that burden off her and to make sure my uncle is laid to rest with the respect and love he deserves.
