8th Annual Winter Care Package Drive
Donation protected
Dear Friends and Supporters,
My name is Art Ambartsumyan, and I am a dedicated social worker and current law student. I am reaching out to you today with a heartfelt plea for support as I embark on my 8th annual Winter Care Package Drive. This initiative is not just a project for me; it is a lifeline for our unsheltered neighbors in Los Angeles County.
This year, I aim to create 100 drawstring bag kits filled with essential items: warm blankets, multiple pairs of socks, beanies, gloves, wipes, chapstick, lotion, and water-resistant tarps. These items are crucial for those who face the harsh realities of winter without a roof over their heads.
As we reflect on the 2024 count of the unsheltered community in Los Angeles County, the conservative estimate reveals over 75,000 individuals living on the streets. These are not just statistics; they are our neighbors, friends, and community members. In 2021, we tragically lost at least 14 unsheltered individuals to the cold. This is not just a failure of our government at all levels; it is a failure of our humanity.
While mutual aid may seem like a temporary solution to a much larger societal issue, your generous donation will provide immediate relief to 100 unsheltered individuals who will find some respite from the brutal cold this winter. Your support can make a tangible difference in their lives, offering warmth and comfort during the harshest months of the year.
I invite you to join me in this mission to bring warmth and hope to those who need it most. Every dollar counts, and together, we can show our community that we care. Please consider donating to my Winter Care Package Drive and help us spread kindness and compassion this winter.
Thank you for your generosity and support.
Warm regards,
Art Ambartsumyan
