Help Me Pay My Student Loan
Donation protected
Hi Folks,
My name is Brody Willis; I am a freelance filmmaker, educator, non-profit worker, and Army veteran, and I am asking you for your help.
In 2008, I proudly completed my studies in film school very shortly after I was honourably discharged from the US Army Infantry; and while my schooling at the local community college was covered by my GI Bill, strangely, they wouldn't cover my post-graduate film education (I graduated respectively with a 3.0 and 3.5 GPA, and I chose to attend two schools at once).
So, to my dismay, I had to take out a student loan.
Now, I run a non-profit film production company sharing my experiences and skills with others who could not afford the education I enjoyed. I do not charge for my services, and I do not accept a salary. And while my freelance career has been very satisfying, I have never been able to scale that last peak: The Dreaded Loan.
2020 has been difficult for all of us, so I am asking you, and the people nearest and dearest to you, to make a minimum $5 donation so I may lay my loan to rest, which as of this writing, sits at $90K.
I would need 20,000 people at $5 apiece to make sure I cover the interest; and of course, anything left over will be donated to two worthy causes: the Animal Welfare Institute and the Northwest Film Forum (the fiscal sponsor of my own organisation, Blanket Fort Films).
I will post semi-regular updates, as well as a few photos of my non-profit adventures; and of course, I will post a video of the glorious day I settle my loan.
You will have my undying gratitude for helping me close this chapter of my life, so please kindly share this post and donate today.
Thank You!
