At 4 a.m. on Thursday, August 1st, 2019, Molly and Roy Ballard received news that no parents should hear.   Their youngest son, Evan Cutler, has stage 4 cancer (nephroblastoma).   The following day, Evan had a large Wilms tumor removed, along with his right kidney, which took doctors six hours to complete.  The disease has unfortunately spread to his lungs.  Prior to knowing this awful news, Evan's symptoms came on suddenly, and within hours, the family's life course changed dramatically.   The Ballard Family; Molly, Roy, and big brothers Jake and Noah, will support little Evan through 31 weeks of chemotherapy starting on August 19.  Evan will also receive radiation treatment, most likely at a medical center in Boston, starting in the next six weeks.  Molly is unable to continue her teaching position in Virginia for the 2019-2020 school year.  Molly and Roy will need financial assistance over the next month for medical bills and upcoming travel expenses to Boston.   The financial aid received will undoubtedly let Molly and Roy focus on the health and welfare of their family first.  Let's support The Ballards and Evan Strong!!!
