We come together with heavy hearts to share a devastating loss and stand beside the Xu family as they face unimaginable grief.

On Thursday, November 6, 2025, the fatal accident caused mom and daughter to be rushed to the hospital, where sweet, beautiful, loving Melody, took her last breath.

Now, they face not only the unimaginable grief of losing their little girl while also caring for their younger son - but also mounting practical burdens: medical bills, funeral and memorial costs, time off work, ongoing care and recovery for their mother, and the long road ahead emotionally and financially.

Our goal with this GoFundMe is three-fold:

1. To help cover legal costs and representation, ensuring access to justice and legal proceedings,

2. To offer ongoing support for the as they navigate the months ahead - for counselling, for missed work, for household expenses, for post surgery recovery like physio, and any additional medical care, equipment, and healing that will be needed,

3. To provide help for the eventual funeral and memorial service, so that the family can give their daughter a beautiful farewell, one that honours her spirit, her life, and the love she brought to everyone who knew her.

How funds will be used:

• Legal support and representation for the family

• Temporary loss of income and essential living expenses

• Hospital and ongoing rehabilitation costs for the mother’s injuries

• Funeral, memorial service, and related expenses

• Grief and trauma counselling for family, siblings, and close friends

• A small fund for the surviving sibling to ensure a stable, nurturing environment
