A powerful earthquake that rocked the Island of Sulawesi in Indonesia and triggered a tsunami has killed more than 1,200 people and the death toll continue to rise. The 7.5 magnitude earthquake destroyed thousand of home in the city as well hotel, hospital and large store. The damage has been described as extensive : a main highway was cut off by the land slide and a large bridge washed away by tsunami wave, which hit Palu’s Talise beach and the coastal town of Donggala. I am an Indonesian living in Canada and have family and friends living in the affected area of Tsunami. I care a lot about what is happening in my country rignt now and am trying to help them by raising critical survival funds through this difficult time where many have perished, lost family and friends, and have lost everything . The city of Palu has been completely devastated by the earthquake and tsunami waves, which reached as high as six metres in some areas. In the city, partially covered bodies lay near the shore and survivors sifted through a tangled mess of corrugated steel roofing, timber, rubble and flotsam.
