On July 19th, our dog Kuma got lose and showed up at our neighbors house an hour later not being able to walk. We took him to a local vet and they diagnosed him with heatstroke. He had a temp of 106 when he was brought there. After they cooled him down and got his temp down to 101, we made the decision to bring him to a 24 hour vet because at this point, it was 10 o'clock at night. My mom and I drove Kuma to the second vet and they took him in. After the doctor talked to us, it was mainly bad news. 50/50 chance of survival, could have a certain disease, next step could be organ failure, kidney faliure, there could be a chance that he goes to sleep and doesn't wake back up... By some miracle he survives this. We left him overnight and they gave him an IV and started plasma transfusions. The cost for the plasma transfusions is around 6 thousand currently, stacked upon other miscellaneous vet bills. They have notified us that he has improved over night but plasma transfusions need to continue. Thoughts, Prayers, and Donations for our lovely, amazing, playful, big dog Kuma would be greatly appreciated.
