60 for 60 - To Support the British Heart Foundation

60 for 60 – My Walk & Weight Loss Challenge for the British Heart Foundation ❤️
challenge complete 7th February 72km walked in the last 5 days and I could not have done this without everyone’s support, thank you

I have set myself a huge personal challenge:

I'm going to walk 60 Kilometers over 6 consecutive days and lose 6 stone between June 2025 and my 60th birthday in February 2026 - I am doing all of this to raise money for the British Heart Foundation.

This challenge is deeply personal to me:

Like many people, I've lost family members to heart disease, and others have undergone major heart surgeries. My mum is one of them. Thanks to the vital research funded by the BHF, we got more time with her than we would have. Without their work, we would have lost her much sooner than we did, and I'll always be grateful for that.

I live with heart issues and COPD, so I know just how serious and life-changing these conditions can be but I'm determined to push through and prove that, even with health struggles, it's still possible to make big changes.

This isn't just about walking and weight loss - its about honouring those we've lost and raising funds for the BHF to help save more lives. The research they do is crucial, and I want to do my bit to support it.

❤️How you can you help?❤️
I would be so grateful if you could donate whatever you can. Every penny goes straight to the British Heart Foundation to fund the life-saving research that could save more families from losing their loved ones too soon. If you can't donate, a share or a message of encouragement would mean the world to me.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart for reading and supporting my challenge.
Let’s do this – 60 for 60

Progress 4 Weeks until end of challenge - I used to walk an average of 4km a week I am now walking over 50km within 6 days. Unfortunately I have only been able to lose 2stones in weight so that part of my challenge I will not achieve. Although disappointing, I am choosing to focus on the walking as I have done all through because this has given me the most noticeable health improvements.
Even when this challenge ends I will continue with the walking, it is now a good health habit for me for life. I will set some more personal challenges such as walking The West Highland Way etc. but that is for next year and beyond and I don't think I will do it as a charity fund challenge I will keep it just as a personal one. 2026 I will concentrate on losing my other 4 stones.
