Help with funeral expenses

hello about a year ago my mother and I was having a casual conversation and some how the subject of life insurance came up, she expressed to me that she didn’t have any life insurance, immediately I started to look for some insurance for my mom, and we did get some insurance started for her, the insurance agent told my mom and I that it would go into effect the same day we got the insurance, that wasn’t true, she had to have had her policy for a year to get the whole amount, it only paid a small amount, which will not be enough for my mother’s burial expenses , please what ever you can give to help we will greatly appreciate anything, thank you.
