Love 4 Lorie:Open ❤️ Surgery

I am Lisa, Lorie’s younger sister. Four years ago, Lorie was diagnosed with Hypertrophic Obstructive Cardiomyopathy (HOCM) a genetic disease she was born with and did not know she had until our father died suddenly from the same disease in 2010. HOCM is not caused by eating poorly, or not taking care of yourself; it is the thickening of the septum wall of the heart which impedes the blood flow. Symptoms included syncope, shortness of breath, dizziness, and many restrictions to everyday life. After receiving an Implantable Cardioverter Defibrillator (ICD) as a precaution to sudden death, it was determined that she would still require a septal myectomy as well as mitral valve repair. That surgery is scheduled for June of this year and will require Lorie to travel to The Cleveland Clinic in Ohio. As many of you know, Lorie supports herself and her daughter on her own working as an assistant principal. This surgery and the travel expenses will place a huge financial burden on her, so we are reaching out to all of her friends and family for support. Besides financial support, we also ask for prayers as she travels to Ohio and undergoes this open heart procedure.
