Hi, my name is Rae Jenae. I’m the founder of Lezchic’ Entertainment and my newest program, The Queer Girl Initiative (QGI), a project born out of both my passion and my lived experience as a queer woman navigating hardship without a safety net. Over the years, I’ve worked to build spaces and opportunities for queer women through events, residencies, and community organizing in South Florida.
Now I’m taking the next step by turning QGI into a 501(c)(3) nonprofit so we can expand our impact! Providing resources, emergency support, and visibility for queer women who need it most.
Now that we have finally hit 25,000 followers, I'd like to challenge my followers and supporters to help me turn that into $125,000.00 of community impact.
After launching QGI I started thinking of ways to come up with the funding I need to become a nonprofit. A few people liked the idea of a $5 Fundraiser but as we hit 25K followers I thought to myself what if 25,000 people donated $5. I would have $125,000. what would I do with that money?
I instantly knew that I would want to take that money and put it back into the community, and the best way to do it would be through QGIs “Pain to Power” program so think of it like this...as the fundraiser grows so does it’s impact on the community.
Then I started thinking about milestones...
With every milestone tied to our 25K followers, we’ll unlock new tiers of impact, from covering non profit fees, to strategically investing in visibility and connections that strengthen the “Pain to Power” program, to launching media outreach, to funding community raised grants.
Our first big milestone is $25,000 - enough to officially launch QGI as a nonprofit and kickstart the “From Pain to Power” program. But if we keep going, there’s no cap on what’s possible. If every follower gave $5, that would be $125,000 — enough to expand this into housing support, transportation grants, mental health resources, and so much more. Let’s hit $25K together and see how far we can grow.
$2000 ⟶ STARTUP SUPPORT:
- Begin covering legal and filing fees toward 501(c)(3) status
- Website and digital tools; branded marketing materials, landing page and outreach collateral
- Community awareness campaigns and networking capital
$5,000 ⟶ PILOT PHASE DEVELOPMENT:
- QGI portal prototype
- Compensate 2 professional partners to host workshops/consultations
- Create a small $1K micro-grant fund for 3 women facing immediate needs
- Commission photo and video documentation of pilot phase
$10,000 ⟶ INFRASTRUCTURE & LAUNCH
- Finalize 501(c)(3) formation, establish bank accounts and accounting systems
- Fully build the QGI portal 1.0, including the directory, intake forms and resource listings
- Pay stipends to 5-8 licensed professionals hosting QGI workshops in financial literacy, mental health and trades.
- Provide 10 micro-grants ($250-500) each for therapy, housing, or certification programs
$15,000 ⟶ GROWTH & SYSTEMS EXPANSION
- Expand QGI portal with new features like manual partner upload dashboards for building personal profiles, mentorship forums and booking links.
- Hire a part time operations assistant to manage partner on-boarding and data tracking
- Fund continuing education sponsorships for 10 queer women to earn certifications or licenses in career advancing fields.
- Host 2 community panel events featuring mentors, local business leaders and partnered service providers.
- Develop impact tracking tools to report measurable outcomes for future funders
$25,000 ⟶ FULL PROGRAM LAUNCH (PHASE 2)
- Fully develop QGI portal 2.0 with integrated partner dashboard, resource search, calendar and scheduling tools, analytics tracking, system integrations for payments, referrals and reporting as well as API for future app or mobile expansion.
- Provide stipends to 15+ professionals
- Expand the crisis relief fund to assist 30+ participants
- Launch QGI Mentorship Program- 10 mentors paired with 20 participants for a 6 month guided growth cycle
- Produce “Pain to Power” community panel series
- Invest in marketing/public relations to grow visibility and attract larger institutional partners
$25,000 - $75,000 ⟶ REGIONAL EXPANSION & PARTNERSHIPS
- Secure a small shared office or co-working space for QGI team operations, community meetings and workshops.
- Hire a part time program coordinator and communications lead to manage partnerships, PR and reporting.
- Continue Portal Development with advanced analytics, AI matching for mentorships and private partner login features.
- Host quarterly partner networking events and community pop ups in different areas of Florida.
- Develop a mini documentary/series highlighting stories of impact
- Grow micro-grant capacity to fund 75+ direct relief recipients.
- Engage a non profit consultant or grant writer to secure larger funding partnerships.
- Launch QGI Scholarship Fund supporting women in trade schools or certification programs.
$75,000 - $125,000 ⟶ FULL SCALE IMPACT EXPANSION
- Establish a physical QGI Resource & Empowerment Center, offering workshops, coworking and drop in crisis support
- Expand digital portal into national access
- Hire a small core team (Executive Assistant, Program Manager, Community Outreach Lead.
- Launch national mentorship cohorts and leadership retreats for program graduates
- Produce annual QGI “Pain to Power” Summit with guest speakers, partners & workshops
- Create a $15,000 revolving emergency relief and education fund to be replenished quarterly through sponsorships and fundraising.
- Develop a national awareness campaign in partnership with LGBTQ+ media outlets to recruit members and funders.
Five dollars may not seem like much on its own.. but when we come together, it becomes transformative. With 25,000 of us standing side by side, $5 each turns into a movement that builds the Queer Girl Initiative into a nonprofit, launches From Pain to Power, and creates real opportunities for queer women in our community.
