50 kilometers for Asha Mission
Dear friends and family,
This March I am running a 50 kilometer (or ~ 31 mile) trail race at Fall Creek Falls, Tennessee. I have an immense love of running, but I don’t want this race to be another selfish pursuit. I want each of the 50 kilometers I run to do more than just get me closer to crossing the finish line, I want to use them for something bigger than myself. And I need your help doing it . . .
The goal: Raise $1,500 for Asha Mission Children's Home
The math: Why $1,500? There are 30 miles in a 50 kilometer race. If 50 people donate $30, we can hit our goal!
The timeline: raise funds before race day - Sunday, March 11, 2018
The why: Since 2011, I have had the privilege of visiting the amazing people of Asha Mission in India. Asha Mission is a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit, with a children’s home tucked away in a rural part of Delhi. Twenty one boys currently call Asha Mission home, and I have watched them grow from curious, energetic, brilliantly smart children into inspiring and strong young adults over the years.
The house parents, the staff, and the children of Asha Mission have taught me more over the years than I would ever be able to describe adequately with words. Their joy, selflessness, faith, and resilience are incredibly inspiring. They live to serve each other and the community around them. I hope to give back to them with these funds to help sustain the home financially.
The funds raised will go directly to Asha Mission, where they will be used to pay for school tuition, uniforms, books, other school supplies, medical care, food, and rent for the home. Truly, truly, every contribution helps, no amount is too small. Thank you so much for reading.
❤️ Love you all.
