Seeking a helping hand!

Donation protected
Hi my name is John and I thought I would be the last person asking for financial assistance and a go-fund-me account. But I have a situation that affects my closest friend, Gary. Gary has been a real inspiration to those who know him. Willing to offer a helping hand whenever needed. Thinking of others, before himself. A true friend.

I met Gary in college over 36 years ago. His energy and encouragement help me, and many other friends, graduate from Oakland University in Oakland county Michigan. Gary was a campus leader as fraternity president (Theta Chi). Gary won graduate honors from the University and national Theta Chi; known as the Wilson and Colley awards, respectfully. Gary is never one to ask for help even though he was born with muscular dystrophy, survived colon cancer and spends his days in electric wheelchair. He is truly amazing.

Until last week Gary depended on a very old and rusted out wheelchair accessible van for his mobility. The “green monster“, finally broke down for the last time. Leaving Gary with no method of transportation. We are exhausted all resources to purchase a new wheelchair accessible van that will provide Gary safe and comfortable transportation for years to come. These vans are very expensive ranging from $60,000 to $120,000. I would be eternally grateful for any financial assistance to reach our goal of $85,000, so we may purchase a new wheelchair accessible Dodge Grand Caravan for Gary.

Thank you for your consideration and any donation you can make.
