Rebuild Dagmar's House After Harvey
Dagmar Pesakova (Darren's ex-wife) never dreamed that she would need flood insurance given that her house was outside of even the 500 year flood zones in Katy, Texas. However, when 51 inches of rain fell in a matter of days, the flood control reservoirs in the area were overwhelmed. Dagmar and our three kids now have nearly three feet of water in their house, that is expected to be there for at least a week, but, probably more. Dagmar is covered for food and shelter and her vehicles are covered. However, the estimates on the rebuild of the house are coming in around $65,000. All of this will be out of pocket as insurance is not covering and FEMA is only offering loans. This is much more than she can afford on a teacher's salary. We are helping as much as we can. Our plan is to use donated labor and we have a contactor who is helping out for free, but, materials alone are estimated to be over $20,000 (funds will only be accessible by Dagmar and will only be used to demo and rebuild the flooded parts of the home). Anything you can spare would be much appreciated.
