Funeral expenses for Mai Lor

Dearest friends and families,

Today is a sad day for me and my family. We are struck with the loss of my sister Mai Lor. She was my one and only sister who passed away at the age of 27. She leaves behind me, her father Yeng Lor, Mother Youa Lee, and her two brothers Dao and Ethan Lor.

My sister Mai was born on May 4th 1995. She was born a normal child, but sadly later she was diagnosed with mental retardation by doctors at the age of 3. She lived her life unable to speak with little to no communication skills. She participated in special need programs, and she was under the care and supervision of my mother. On the night of Jan 20th 2023 Mai started vomiting and wasn’t able to keep down her meals and she had lost her appetite. All signs of maybe she had contracted the stomach flu or virus. With so many sicknesses and viruses going around now a day my mother did not think too much of the signs and she tried to nurse her with little food and water to keep her hydrated. Throughout the day of Jan 21st, 2023, Mai continued with her symptoms until that night when my mother noticed something was terribly wrong with Mai she was unresponsive. My mother called me and we rushed her to the Kaiser Roseville Emergency. The doctors immediately diagnosed her with Volvulus (an obstruction due to twisting or knotting of the Gastrointestinal tract). An emergency surgery was performed where the doctors found her large intestine had ruptured, she had become sepsis. During the surgery they also found that her stomach organ had failed and the tissue was dead they had to remove it. All of this had become way too much for Mai to overcome she sadly passed away during the afternoon of Jan 22nd 2023.

Today I have made this GoFundMe page to ask for any little donations to help with her funeral cost. Anything will help and will be appreciated during this hard time. Thanks for everyone’s love and support. Mai’s funeral will be held on March 15th 2023 (open 24 hours) at the Moon Sun Memorial and she will be laid to rest on March 16th 2023 at the East Lawn Cemetery.
