Family House Fire Recovery Fund
Donation protected
Hello, my name is Cecilia and I'm looking to help my brother, sister-in-law, and little nephew as they had a house fire that destroyed all of their things. This happened on Monday 2/26/24.
They just got a new stove a little while ago and they believe there was a possible short or outlet issue that caused their kitchen to catch fire from the new appliance.
By the grace of God, my nephew (13 years old) was in school, my sister-in-law was at work, and my brother was at a doctor's appointment. The dogs unfortunately were in the house. The fire department was able to save them. They had to recessitate one and give oxygen to the others.
One dog, the oldest, had to go to the emergency vet and is being kept due to breathing issues. He's still there but they hope to have him back in a day or two. The other one had to go to be seen by the vet the next day also.
They live in a modular home so everything is destroyed either by the fire or is waterlogged from the fire department putting the fire out.
They could not afford property insurance and being that it was a modular home they did not have home owner's insurance so it is a total loss.
They are devastated especially for their son having to go through this disaster with their family at such a young age and being displaced like this.
Their unknown costs between the home situation, hotel stays, vet bills, day to day necessities is ...paralyzing. We don't even know where to begin. They both work and are blessed to have full-time steady jobs. They are not looking for a hand out and certainly would never ask for help. I am asking for them as this will be a long road ahead financially, physically, spiritually, and emotionally. Please consider helping in anyway you can.
If you are able to help in anyway, nothing would be too small. Or even if you could share to get the word out that they need help would be such a blessing. Sending prayers, thoughts, and good vibes are greatly appreciated and accepted.
Thank you for thinking of my family during this difficult time.
