415 to NYC- Uniting Young Activists
Donation protected
At June Jordan School for Equity, a courageous group of undocumented students and their allies, calling themselves 415 Unidos for Freedom have been educating themselves and advocating for immigrants' rights. This group was formed last year, and played a pivotal role in pushing the San Francisco Unified School District to adopt a sanctuary policy.
These students have been networking with community organizations, other schools in the district, and helping reach younger students as well as staff to ensure that immigrant students are well-served. They have also participated in community actions resulting in the release of unfairly held persons, as seen in this photograph.
It is their dream to go to New York and build community with youth organizations there working on similar issues of immigrants' rights and anti-gentrification. This May we will travel across the country (most for the first time) to build power and broaden our horizons.
Your money will go towards flights, lodging, and food for 11 youth and their 3 adult chaperones.
