Beautiful People,
Thank you so much for taking the time to visit my project page and make a donation, I love you so much.
My name is Monica McIntyre, I am a Lyricist/Vocalist/Cellist who is compelled to bring beautiful, authentic, healing music to the world. I'm at a pivotal point in my life/career, where I am composing and writing some of my best works yet. "It Soon Come", a working title, is a nod to my Jamaican heritage and is a phrase that perfectly describes where I am right now. I am staying in motion while showing myself compassion and love because I know "It Soon Come".
Living in New Orleans has allowed me to slow down and step deeply into my healing process; this city is a place of such divine inspiration and growth. My intention is to record & mix "It Soon Come" (10 songs, 7 days) in mid-September at The Living Room in Algiers, LA. Some of the main themes of the album are: The Mississippi River, Self-Love/Love, and Healing.
I am so excited to be working wth such amazing artists on this project: Producer John Chelew, whose full list of credits are listed here http://www.allmusic.com/artist/john-chelew-mn0000808768/credits and include: Ruthie Foster, John Hiatt, and The Blind Boys of Alabama; Violinist/Violist/Vocalist Marcia McIntyre, (my big sis) an amazing musician whose playing makes me weep and whose vocal harmonies and textures hug my voice like no other; Vocalist Thea Bashful, who brings an intense emotional and spiritual quality to my work that is astounding; Percussionist Mike Jacobson, whose vast knowledge of percussion techniques/culture and willingess to explore musically with me is an honor; and Oboist Reggina Thompson, a young, up and coming musician (Loyola University) whose haunting sound quality adds such a great dynamic layer to the strings.
