Jody is seven years old and in second grade and has a younger brother and sister at home in southern Oregon with their grandparents while mom and dad are in Portland with Jody. This is her story starting Thursday March 4, 2021.
Thursday (03/04), Jody was found in the bathroom by her mom having a seizure. She was taken to Mercy Hospital. They did a CT scan and found a brain tumor. She was airlifted to the children's hospital in Portland where she is in ICU. She has a drain tube - the drain tube seems to be doing its job. The tumor is pressing against the pituitary gland which is a problem. They will work on trying to normalize her hormonal levels before they may be able to attempt a surgery. They have not decided on the best course of action in dealing with the mass tumor - surgery, radiation, or a combination of both.
A second drain tube was placed today, they were able to get a biopsy today as well. The goal right now is to get Jody's hormonal levels up where they should be and to allow her to heal some after two back to back surgeries.
This will be a long fight for Jody and her parents all funds collected for Jody will go to her family to help with medical and other expenses.
Jody is just starting her fight will you stand beside this beautiful little girl and give her the opportunity to have her mommy and daddy by her side without worrying about finances.
