The video on this page describes the background of A Shot For Life, Inc. and how it came to be. The fundraising on this page is specifically for the A Shot For Life Challenge. The A Shot For Life Challenge is a shooting challenge that will take place at the University Sports Complex in Hanover, Massachusetts.
The 12 best shooters in Massachusetts from the previous high school season were chosen by Brendan Hall who is the high school sports editor for ESPNBoston.com. The shooters will all shoot for two consecutive hours with a five minute break in between the two hours. The shooter who has the highest shooting percentage at the end of the second hour is officially named the best shooter in Massachusetts.
All of the shooters participating are also asked to raise money on their own to help support the cause. As much as winning this event is prestigious from an athletic standpoint, raising money for cancer research through basketball is by far the most important aspect and all of the shooters understand that. The cause that the A Shot For Life Challenge is benefitting is brain cancer research and the money raised will be split between Children's Hosptial in Boston as well as Massachusetts General Hospital.
