365m - Kenya Rise
My name is David Gillett and am a student at Nazarene Theological
Seminary pursuing my Masters of Divinity emphasizing in Intercultural
Studies. I was presented with an amazing opportunity by my school
through a program called 365m to travel to Kenya in 2014. While there I will intern at Strategic Applications International & Servant Forge, while furthering my studies.
This year-long global internship experience couples together graduate-level
intercultural studies with hands-on experience in cross-cultural
settings where "the world will be our classroom."
While in Kenya, I will be working on 5 main
initiatives: Gender-Based Violence; Follow the Clean Trash Campaign; Clean
Water Development; HIV/AIDS Health & Awareness; & Youth
Empowerment & Employment. I will travel extensively throughout the country to meet
and partner with key policymakers, businesses, educational institutions and
communities to develop sustainable solutions to better serve their land.
Before I even get there however, I need to raise funds to cover
tuition, living expenses, and travel costs. I am raising $25,000 for the
duration of my trip to Kenya which will last ten months. I leave early February and return early December in 2014. This video and page explains the vision
behind my trip and what I hope to accomplish and learn.
I will also be selling T-shirts! Be on the lookout!
So please partner with me as I embark on this life changing journey!
Thanks & God Bless - Mfalme David Christensen Gillett
