Gizelle's Medical Miracle
I'm Elise, but this story belongs to my sister Gizelle and her husband Reed. These two are incredibly generous and giving people. If you know them, you have no doubtedly been a recipient of their benevolent hearts.
Last year Reed was in a devastating accident which left him unable to walk. Doctors have struggled for a year trying to save Reed's leg from amputation. After over a year of hard work he is finally able to use both legs, but he is in need of extensive physical therapy but does not have insurance to cover the expenses. On top of that, Reed will be on expensive antibiotics for many more months to come.
With Reed still disabled and Gizelle tirelessly caring for him during his recovery, tragically they ended up in the hospital again. This time, it wasn't for Reed it was for Gizelle. After testing, the doctors told them that the intense pain Gizelle was feeling wasn't from her heart, but from a very aggressive form of cancer.
Gizelle has been through four months of this harsh and lethal chemotherapy. Despite all of the pain and sickness, it was to no avail. All the chemotherapy did was destroy and weaken her body while the cancer has only grown. The doctors gave up hope on Gizelle and her fight against her illness, telling her she only had 6 months to live. She refuses to succumb and has gone to a cancer clinic in Arizona that has a high success rate for treating cancers like her's. However it doesn't come without a price.
Any donations received will be used immediately to pay for the treatments for Gizelle and living expenses since Reed is unable to work due to his accident. It will also pay for physical therapy for Reed to help him to get back on his feet, quite literally. The funds accumulated will also help provide necessary modifications for them to have a more suitable place to live as they are currently living in a fifth wheel.
How can I express the gratitude I feel for people I don't even know who will donate for the survival of my beloved sister? My world has emploded from the doctor's prognosis. Gizelle is 10 years older than me and has not only been a sister, she has been like a mother, and one of my dearest friends.
