Help Brett get back on his feet
Donation protected
As most of you know, my brother was diagnosed with ALL (Acute lymphoblastic leukemia and lymphoma) in October of 2015. The last 10 months have been extremely hard on him and his family. They have endured many hardships from multiple hospital stays to financially debilitating medical/insurance expenses and have almost lost their family business. As of this month my brother will be done with the most aggressive chemo treatments and will be entering the maintenance phase. This phase still includes one spinal tap per month, an IV drip, and daily oral chemotherapy tablets. On the positive side, he won’t need a bone marrow transplant and his prognosis is looking good.
I'm asking for donations to help his family get over this hump. They still have a long road ahead of them since his maintenance treatment will last three years. Currently, my brother is still unable to work and now has to use a cane to walk. He has lost 50% of his hearing, 10% of his cognition, and may need hip replacement in the future. All these things are due to the effects of his chemotherapy.
I'm hoping the donations will help them with bills, back to school expenses, and sustain life until Brett is able to return to work or receive disability. His wife, Melissa, has filed for everything within reason to financially help their family and is currently waiting on approval/denial from these governmental agencies. She is doing what she can, holding the family together, being the sole care taker of my brother, running her own small business, and taking care of the children alone. Sadly it's not enough to financially sustain their household.
Any donation big or small will make a difference. Thank you for helping Brett and his family get through this extremely challenging time. The outpouring of love and support has been touching and invaluable. If you know them personally, you know they're the kind of people who would be there for you. In my brother's words....Cheers!!!!☕️☕️☕️
