Wheelchair Van for Zaynie
Donation protected
This sweet and joyful girl is Zaynab. Zaynie is 16, and will always be wheelchair bound. She lives with her parents and her grandmother Maria Mayorga, who is my wonderful nanny, my teenage daughters' second mother since they were born. Everyone in this family works very hard, particularly to make life good for Zaynie, but a wheelchair van has always been far out of reach financially. For 16 years her family, mostly her tiny mother and even tinier grandmother, have lifted Zaynie and her wheelchair in and out of their car every time they need to take her somewhere. An opportunity has come up for us to be able to get a wheelchair van for the family for $7000, thanks to the kindness of the current owner who recently lost her husband to ALS. We hope to raise the money as soon as possible to be able to buy the van from her before someone else snaps it up. If we can collect $10K, we can also pay for needed repairs on the van. We have visions of the van in the driveway with a big bow on it as the surprise of a lifetime for this family. Anyone with a wheelchair bound family member or friend knows how life changing a wheelchair van can be. Please help us make it happen for Zaynie and her family. Thank you.
