Dads dash

Hi my name is Jessica and I am fundraising for my dad and others undergoing chemo and dialysis treatment. As it can cost pt’s up to $800 a week just for transport to and from treatment a lot of those pt’s are experiencing financial difficulties so severe they are having to choose between buying some food and paying for transport. And this treatment is what keeps them alive. Dad is an incredible amputee in stage 4 kidney disease. He undergoes dialysis 3-5 times a week for about 6 hours each session. If we are lucky enough to ever get a transplant then I would use some of this money to enable me to be there for dad during that time.

As a single mum and a nurse I do what I can but I would like to do more. I believe treatment is already hard and painful enough. Although you’ll never hear those fighting complain. They truly amaze me. But I would like to take some of the financial burden off. I would like people to be able to get to and from treatment without having to worry how they will cover the next transport cost. And I would like family’s to be able to have beautiful memories with their loved ones. Especially those of us who don’t have a good prognosis and are just trying to make the time left as beautiful as possible when we feel so helpless.
