Let's get Dad to Arlington Cemetery

Donation protected
My Father, Michael Eppler, Sr. passed Sunday July 24th.  It's been a complicated road between him and his kids. That's ok. We loved him and stayed in contact throughout all the years.

After he was medically and honorably retired from the Airborne - Air Assault (101st,  173rd) in 1972, he spent his life like many Vietnam Vets, knocking around from job to job and scratching out a living as best he could.  He was beloved by his VFW post in Parker, AZ and Deb's Garage where he tinkered with his friends during the day.

He did one thing extraordinary with his life: he Served his Country (8 years - all of them in Vietnam 1963 - 1972 with 2 Purple Hearts, one for each of the enlistments, several commendations, and
medical and honorable retirement in 1972, with a broken neck and shrapnel in his body).

My Father is eligible for internment at Arlington National Cemetary with full military burial rights. (Please pray we can get the paperwork settled as soon as possible to get him to rest in that Sacred ground.)

In the meanwhile, my siblings have asked me to take care of his remains and to handle the paperwork necessary to get him interred at that most sacred American place.  My father's effects are in the desert in Arizona.  He died in a VA hospital in California.  I live in Indiana...  My two oldest sons, Noah and Mark have agreed to go to the desert with me to clean out his place, to travel to California to do the paperwork, collect his remains, and return.  We anticipate internment in Arlington in November.

We are raising the money needed to travel, pay for the funeral expenses, pay for the paperwork, lodging, and gas.  I will drive my own car.  Dad had a cat, Meathead, who is with his neighbor; we will bring him back with us as well.  Any remaining funds will be put to the trip in November to bury my Father in Arlington.  We are needing help as soon as possible.

I hate to ask, but this is an important moment.  On behalf of my Father, my siblings,  and my children, we are grateful for any help you might offer.

With humility and deepest appreciation,

Mike Jr. and Family
