Help Tony Hoffman fight for Life!
Help Tony continue his fight for life!
Tony Hoffman
is now 54, but at age 35 he was diagnosed with stage 4 Colon Cancer which has
left him to live with a colostomy. Soon
after his amazing recovery from Colon Cancer he then was diagnosed with Liver
Cancer and beat that one as well. He
then continued to struggle with bowel obstructions and had a couple more
surgeries to continue to remove more of his intestines. After surviving 2 cancers he is now suffering
from significant difficulties with stricture disease, bladder outlet
obstruction, recurrent urinary tract infections and renal insufficiency. He has a poorly functioning right kidney
owing to a congenital abnormality that has become chronically infected. This kidney needs to be removed right away
and with the extent of his other surgeries it is a much more complicated
surgery. Soon after the removal of his
kidney he will then undergo yet another surgery to reconstruct the area of the
bulbar urethra which is chronically scarred and results in significant outlet
obstruction and threatens his entire kidney function process.
Tony does not
have health insurance and his profession is Truck Driving which is very difficult
on his health. Since he has continued to
try to stay employed he is not eligible for any type of assistance until he is
not working for 5 months in which time Social Security will consider his
case. And with these urgent surgeries
he will not be able to work at all. The
medical bills he has now are overwhelming and the cost of the new surgeries
will be extreme.
We are trying
to help him with medical and living expenses to get him through this tough time
and help him continue to fight. I am Tony's
sister and have been with him through his battles and he is braver than anyone
I have ever seen in my life, he has gone through too much to lose his battle
now.
