UPDATE - January 30th 2017 (Full Story Below)

Our help is needed!!

In November, Sharon celebrated her 60th birthday with family and friends. The day was wonderful and Sharon couldn't have been more touched by the great surprise party planned for her!!! All the while since the last update, Sharon has been on a maintenance type chemotherapy, in hopes that they can find the right treatment that would destroy this horrible cancer. In the meantime, Sharon's breathing became very difficult, to find out a tumor had enlarged in her lung. Just last week Sharon went in for a laser procedure to rid her of the tumor. The procedure went well, but radiation is needed to eradicate a small area that is remaining that couldn't be reached by laser. Sharon is the most amazing fighter!!!! It is now 2017 and the start of a New Year with new hopes and dreams, but it is also the start of the health insurance year for her annual out of pocket expenses to begin before she reaches an annual maximum. Sharon will need our help with this as she continues to fight this aggressive and chemo resistant cancer, while she waits for the right treatment that will do rid her of this awful disease.

THE STORY.............

Sharon White, our co-worker and dear friend needs our support and lots of prayers. Her story has been ongoing and heartbreaking to all who love her. Sharon was diagnosed with breast cancer in October last year. Everything seemed hopeful and going in the right direction with her treatments. In May, Sharon got horrible news. We all were in disbelief, and needless to say Sharon was devastated, but being the person she is, remained strong and hopeful. This horrific news she received was so soon after Sharon completed not only all her rounds of chemo for breast cancer, but also her radiation treatments just the week before. Sharon learned, just the week after Mother's Day, that her breast cancer type was chemo resistant all the while, and had spread to her lungs. Although the tumor had shrunk, the cancer moved elsewhere. They found many tumors in her lungs after she went to the ER for trouble breathing. This is not the typical lung cancer that usually is heard about, but breast cancer that spread to her lungs. They did more scans at that time, and her bones and brain were clear at that point. The doctors started her on a different treatment…and now they found a brain tumor. She is being operated on to remove the brain tumor. The message she sent to many, and on her Facebook page, before her surgery is full of hope, faith, love, and strength. Sharon loves her family so much and they depend on her. The medical bills for not only all the chemo and radiation have expense, but also hospitalization, surgery, emergency room visits, pharmacy co-pays, and all other associated costs. Please consider a donation to Sharon’s GoFundMe account. Sharon is always there for others, and needs us all now.

On behalf of many at Water's Edge who love and care about Sharon, thank you so much!

Thank you, thank you!!!!
