Masters Pan American and World Games
Despite the obstacles I have faced in life, I
have always persevered by following my dreams and pursuing new goals.
In March of 2008, I started Crossfit and began
competing shortly thereafter. I was always good at the body weight movements,
but could never move the barbell/weight effectively. I committed to a full time
Olympic lifting program in December of 2010 to improve my strength and
technique. Just four months later, I was informed by the 2013 Master Games (aka
"˜Old People Olympics'), that if I got strong enough, I could potentially make
the team.
Despite many ups and downs over the past two
year and in spite of the opinions of a few telling me I would or should give up
"“ I plan to see my goal through to the very end. In 2 years I have increased my
Snatch lift by 50lbs and my Clean and Jerk lift by 60lbs. Through hard work and
dedication, I qualifed for the 2013 Masters Pan American Games and earned
one of only eight spots for the World Games!

2013 Master World Games August 2013 - Location

My goal is to raise money to cover cost/expenses
for these Masters Weightlifting meets. I appreciate everyone's support, both
emotionally and monetarily, as I continue down this journey.
Airline Tickets (myself/coach): $5,000
Hotel Accommodations: $2,500
Ground Transportaion: $1,000
Misc/Meals/Fees (14 days): $1,500
Working 2 1/2 years towards a goal and never
giving up - Priceless....
If all goes well I should come back home from
the 2013 World Games as a World Games Record Holder in both lifts and in
overall total.
Thank you in advance!
