Funeral Expenses for Deborah Abata
Donation protected
Only 2 months after losing our father, tragedy has struck again. Our beloved sister/aunt, Deborah Mary Abata, was involved in a serious auto accident when a DUI driver swerved into her lane and struck the car she was riding in head-on. The driver of her vehicle, Debbie's long-term boyfriend Alvin Minniefield, was killed instantly. Debbie was taken via Life Flight to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital, where she bravely clung to life for 4 days. Her family was forced to make the heart-breaking decision to stop treatment and she succumbed to her injuries - passing away on Friday, March 19.
The driver who hit Debbie's car is now in jail facing manslaughter charges, while two innocent victims and their families have had their lives torn apart by his recklessness.
Our family is extremely grateful to CHP Officer Anna Paulsen, who was with Debbie at the accident scene, and to the staff at Santa Rosa Memorial ICU 2 North, who took excellent, compassionate care of Debbie and her grieving family.
Debbie was a generous and loving person who was known as the caregiver to all her younger siblings and her nieces and nephews. She was always available and willing to help her friends and family. Now we need help to take care of her. We are asking for donations to help cover the costs of her funeral expenses as she did not have any life insurance. Any amount is greatly appreciated.
