4x4x48 Challenge for ALPs

All Lives Are Precious is a community based initiative run by the people, with the people offering support and services on Emotional Wellbeing, Mental Health Education & Suicide Prevention. 

From our creation we have operated as a not for profit organisation and are a registered Limited Company by Guarentee (NI 648017) established for the benefit of our community through HMRC, Inland Revenue and Companies House. 

We have just established a board of trustees consisting of 6 people all from Downpatrick alongside a board of advisers consisting of representatives from the clergy, health care practicioners, teachers, youth workers and community leaders from.all over the country.

We receive funding from the Department of Justice, the Department of Education,Newry Mourne and Down Council, ESB and most recently through the Department of Economy all of which to obtain has rigorous procedures we need to adhere to in obtaining.

In addition to this we host our own events, run community concerts and rely heavily on volunteers , support from the Private and Public Sectors as well as members of the public to conduct our work. 

We constantly strive to provide much needed Education and Pastoral care to individuals, groups, schools, teenagers, families and the wider community.

The vision of our organisation is that -

All Lives are Precious  is a provider of specific frontline services of excellence in terms of Mental Health Awareness and Suicide Prevention in a society where the distinct ethnicity, identity and experience of everyone in the community is acknowledged, celebrated and respected.

Our Mission is –

To provide a range of services and support to, with and for individuals, families, communities and organisations to enhance choices with care and integrity.

As an organisation, All Lives are Precious have spent considerable time establishing the current provisions, identifying the gaps and we have embarked on a journey to develop an organisation that can meet the needs of the whole community.

The overall objective is to reduce suicide and the rates of Mental Illnesses within the community, but we can only do this by making all aware of the implications, stresses and triggers daily life can have on a person’s mental health.

All Lives are Precious grew from very humble beginnings and as well as the services named above we strive to meet the needs of the community and are equipped to offer further services as and when required. .Whatever programmes or services we dont have we are able to access.

From 2017 until now we have engaged upwards of 40,000 members of the community in our project and activities and provided access to counselling and therapies to hundreds of people.

In the Downpatrick area currently we have three therapists and 1 peer mentor assisting the community daily, and from our creation the organisation has trained over 300 members of the community in Suicide Prevention as well as working with thousands of children in our schools on wellbeing activities. We have put on a series of concerts and celebrations all to promote positive wellbeing.

All we have set out to do is to build a community of people who are there to help others, everything we do is for the people, by the people and with the people. By staying true to this we have developed a vast community of thousands behind us  a community that is expanding of each and everyday
