Phoenix's journey

Phoenix's Journey
A Wish for Animal's

This sweet boy was discovered by good Samaritans.  This poor soul had been left for dead in the bushes at a public park shivering in pain.  A long, thick, heavy chain attached to his body. When they reached out to Animal Control they were put on hold so they called the local Compton fire dept. for help. Little did they know that the Captain’s wife is a Volunteer for A Wish for Animals rescue.  Phoenix’s new journey in life was about to begin.

What happened to Phoenix will never be fully known.  He was found with those  heavy chains attached to him, which we believe may have been used to drag him based on his extensive and horrific injuries.  There are possible burns from an unkown source as well.  He also has a severe infection.  This innocent creature endured the worst of our society.  Tortured and left to die on the road side. He was in an immense amount of pain, unable to move or even cry.  In the arms of his Hero’s, the FDP, he was rushed home to begin healing.  We cleaned his wounds the best we could, started him on antibiotics and pain meds and gave him a warm meal.

Today Phoenix underwent his first of many procedures to health with our caring vet.  He will require many surgeries and has to stay at the vet for an unspecified length of time.  It is unknown at this time if his front paws can be saved and if he will need skin grafts.  He is currently in the tender loving care of our wonderful Veterinary staff.

After he recovers, Phoenix will enjoy rehabilitating at the home of the Fire Captain with his loving and endlessly caring wife.  A Wish for Animals will always be there for this boy. He will rise up from the ashes to freedom and happiness and we need your help to make this possible for him.

The proper authorities are investigating, and already has two open investigations for cruelty in that neighborhood.  Hopefully… Phoenix’s ordeal can help in solving these cases.

A Wish for Animal's helps dogs in need.  We are 100% non profit, no kill, pet rescue. We need your help to make this possible.
