Let's Help Out the Bridges' Family

Donation protected
Everyone has a bad week but for our friends Abbi and Michael it's been the worst month of their life. And that's putting it lightly.

Several weeks ago on April 25, Michael's father Chris suffered a hemorrhagic stroke and was flown by plane to Louisville from Western Kentucky to be treated at the University Hospital for his brain bleed. After several tough days in the ICU, his status appeared to take a turn for the better. The doctors said that he would have to spend a week or two in the hospital but he'd be able to go home soon.

On May 5th, the Bridges' family received a call in the middle of the night that would change their lives forever. Chris Bridges suffered what would be a fatal pulmonary embolism that caused severe hypoxic brain damage.

Chris Bridges was 56 years old. Through organ donation he was able to give four people a new chance at life - his liver was sent to Vanderbilt to someone who is on the transplant list. His kidneys were placed nationally through UNOS and have brought two people off of dialysis. And his heart travelled to Indianapolis, IN (God wink - his heart, Cindy Bridges, came to Kentucky in high school from Indiana and met Chris!). God is faithful! Chris's legacy will continue on, literally, in others!

Chris was loved by all who knew him and is described as someone who would literally give you the shirt off his back. He is survived by his wife, his parents, his son and daughter-in-law, and his daughter, son-in-law and two granddaughters.

The funeral was this afternoon, May 10th, in Mayfield during which time a severe thunderstorm passed through the town. While the family and friends were at the funeral, the Bridges' family home, car, and greenhouse suffered large amounts of damage due to a tornado that touched down in Mayfield. As if things for the Bridges' family couldn't get any worse, they have.

We've decided to put together a Go Fund Me account for Michael, Abbi and the whole Bridges family to help with any expenses that may have occured over this tragic month that they have had. We want to be able to help them cover medical bills, car bills, housing repairs and any other costs they have accrued during the past month.

Any help you can provide would mean the world to this family. They are a loving family to all and show God's love in everything that they do. Following their dad's example, this family would also give the shirt off their back and anything that they have to help others. This is our opportunity to do the same for them and help them out during their time of need.

Thank you to all. Your gifts will not go unappreciated.
