Sam's dream to walk
Sam was born in October 2011, he was 2 wks late....apart from me being in hospital for 3 days at about 24 wks pregnant because we though Sam was going to arrive early...my pregnancy was normal.
He arrived by C-section because he was not making an appearance...he was born with his cord wrapped round his face stopping his head engaging....all seemed fine...
We started to notice a few development issues to do with his mobility...Sam was referred to B'ham Children's Hospital mid 2013 just before we got married. In September 2013 Sam had his MRI scan and finally 2 days before Christmas we had the news that Sam had got Deplegic Cerebral Palsy....
Just over a month ago his doctor said he wants Sam to be considered for Selective dorsal rhizotomy (SDR) which is an operation used to improve spasticity (muscle stiffness) in cerebral palsy.
He had been referred to a doctor at Leeds Hospital BUT the NHS is not funding SDR operation atm and pulled funding at the end of March this year....we are hoping to still have it done in the UK but we may possibly now need to raise the money for this operation, aftercare etc.....
We want Sam to have his dream to walk and play with his friends at school and to play with his sister, and he really, really wants to have a Minions scooter (he loves minions lol) which is something he cant use at the moment because of his CP......
this page has been set up to help raise funds to give Sam the best chance in life for his SDR operation, physio etc and everything else to help him achieve his goal......
Our family would forever be grateful for your support
Much Love
Simon, Jenny,Lisa and of course our Sam
