20 Marathons in 20 Countries for Play Like a Girl
Tax deductible
As part of my 20/20 vision, I'm on a mission to run 20 full marathons in 20 different countries and raise $20,000 for Play Like a Girl in 2020.
Play Like a Girl is a small but growing nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering girls to reach their full potential. We envision a world where all girls have the confidence and opportunity to become unstoppable women. It’s our goal to help girls find the courage to do things beyond the field of play that they never thought possible.
Starting in middle school, girls are engaged in after-school and weekend programs that include moderate-to-vigorous physical activity, athletic training, confidence-building exercises, and one-on-one time with working women—professionals whose expertise ranges from media to medicine. The Play Like a Girl Camp experience teaches girls about science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM). Through experiential workshops and corporate field trips, campers learn about the important role that STEM plays in sports, on-and-off the field. By working with corporations and sports organizations, Play Like a Girl uses sports to inspire and empower the next generation of data scientists, structural engineers, software engineers and more.
While I support a number of organizations, I am who I am today because of organizations like Play Like Girl. I am a runner but far from a professional athlete but I've enjoyed success in my personal and professional life thanks to an introduction to sports early on and also thanks to a slew of mentors who have encouraged me to live a life without limits.
I'm inviting you to join me on my journey and to give to mentorship. 100% of donations go to programming for the girls and donations of any size are welcome.
You can learn more about Play Like a Girl at www.iplaylikeagirl.org and if you're interested in my race itinerary over the next 12 months, please message me directly.
Thanks in advance for your support!
