Hello My name Is Amanda, & I am making this Go Fund Me for my Dad Chad Desabrais. Ive known him since I was 10 years old yes he is my Step dad but I just know him as Dad. he helped my mother raise me and my younger Brother Tyler. In 2007 I lost my mother she passed away and dad was there for us. he will always be A big part of my life and kids life. I always thought he was invincible like nothing could ever hurt him, nothing could bring him down he is definitly a protector of loved ones and a great man! lots of people know him by his nickname Grumpy.. yes he can be a grump and have a tough exterior but he also cares a lot and would do anything for his family. But our year was rocked in 2019 when we got the news that he had Cancer :,(. My dad is a single dad of two boys Jp(14) Kingston(5) Father to two older adult kids Me(31), Tyler (29) & Grumpa to two Grandkids Sophie(4) & Julie(2). He Got Cancer diagnoses in June 2019, got laid off work while off on a knee injury, had surgery in Oct, removed parts of his throat, soft palate, mass in neck and lymph nodes, they removed 137 lymph nodes, 39 were positive for cancer. While hes doing radiation and chemo hes unable to return to the work force. hes out of pocket $500 a month for mdications and his gas bills to travel to and from Edmonton from REC were costing him over $1000 a month. He had to re locate to Edmonton for recovery after surgery and treatments and didnt have a place to live. had to keep going up to Red Earth to pack and back to Edmonton. He now stays with us for the time being so he has a place to stay in the city and by treatment. But hes no longer able to do 50/50 custody of the boys like planned because of treatment and housing. Hes also been dealing with very severe and negative side effects. This was not his idea at all to make A Go Fund me. But he fully endorses it. I am making this to help him out. If I could take away the pain and negative side effects of all of this I would. But I cant so I will stand up and do something for him even if people could help donate a little bit it will add up. or even share this. thank you for your time and donations greatly appreciated. and one more thing...
