Love For Linda

Four months ago Linda’s life took a tragic turn! A year before she had happily retired after more than 25 years at our local Target where she had managed the front guest service area. She was looking forward to babysitting her adorable grandson and continuing to care for her elderly mother. Then she began experiencing kidney stone pain, which at first was not a problem because Linda had passed many stones over the years. But that day was different, she became dizzy and her hearing was muffled, she called her daughter Kristen and they raced to the hospital! Linda didn’t wake up for eight days, her kidney stone had been infected and put Linda’s body into septic shock! Her kidneys and other organs started to fail so the doctors had to give her a certain medication to revive her organs and save her life! The medication saved her and her organs but took the life away from her extremities, now her hands and feet had to be removed! Two more hospitals and one rehabilitation center later (where she was terribly mistreated and promptly removed after almost losing her life a second time) her scars are healing and she is waiting to be measured for prosthetics. Linda is longing to recover at home with her daughter and grandson while waiting for her prosthetics to be made. Then she will have many more months of hard work and rehabilitation ahead of her. Linda’s health insurance will not cover all that is needed for her to recover at home and we are hoping to provide these for her after everything she has suffered.
