Temmie Needs Your Help!

This is Artemis, or “Temmie”. When I first met Artemis nearly two years ago, it was love at first sight. I’d originally been looking for a black cat to name Luna when I walked into Pet Smart, but Artemis struck my eye immediately. He warmed up to me immediately and wouldn’t take his eyes off me, meowing when I left the store to get cash so that I could adopt him.
Artemis has lived a happy, healthy few years. But unfortunately, he fell ill a few days ago. I didn’t notice at first because of my busy work schedule, but yesterday my mom noticed that he was walking as though he was in pain and found blood in his poop. I took him to an emergency vet visit today, hoping it was something small. Artemis was having trouble with cystitis a few months ago, but the vet told me that it was probably stress causing it. When I went to the vet yesterday, though, they found massive amounts of blood in his urine. He’s lethargic, and his labs indicate decreased kidney function and excessive potassium in his blood. He has a urinary blockage. This is a deadly situation for cats, as the excess of urine building up can cause the bladder to burst and cause sepsis.
Luckily, I was able to find a clinic nearby that does payment plans. Had I not found one, Artemis probably wouldn’t have hope. But he does, and that’s what matters! Unfortunately, though, the down payment of $571.00 left me in the negatives in my account, meaning that I’ll be getting an overdraft fee soon. Alongside this, I am now in upwards of $2,415.00 in debt to my vet office.
I am already struggling a lot financially. I recently was forced to move out of my apartment due to a health hazard that landed me in the ER. In order to get a chance at properly breaking my lease, I ended up having to pay June rent, despite the fact that I hadn’t slept there in a month. My nannying job also ends soon, leaving me without my chief source of income. I’m starting a new small part time job as a gymnastics coach, but with my own medical expenses and now Temmie’s, I fear that I won’t be able to afford everything or make my payments on time.
I need help raising at LEAST $571.00 dollars for Temmie’s medical bills. This doesn’t include my own medical expenses, despite the fact that I’m running out of my meds soon and have to pay out of pocket. I know that there are a lot of people with greater needs, but Artemis is incredibly important to me and I don't think I could handle losing him. Please donate if you can and signal boost!
