10KM to Support the Transplant Research Foundation

I’ll never forget the day. It was December 31st, 2019, when I had turned completely yellow. I went straight to the hospital where I was told that there was nothing that they could do for me. I had looked at my blood work and knew something was not right. I contacted my doctor, and he told me to go to VGH immediately. On January 1st, 2020 I was told the news that no family wants to hear; I would need a liver transplant. On May 2nd, 2020, My Nephew’s birthday, I would be given a second chance at life all because of an angel. To show our appreciation and gratitude, this year we would like to raise money to mark my first anniversary. My AMAZING Coworkers, family, and I will be running 10km on May 2nd, 2021 (covid friendly) to raise money to benefit the Transplant Research Foundation of BC, and any donation will help make an impact. I hope through raising money, others can have the same experience I did and a second chance at life. Thanks in advance for your contribution to this cause that means so much to all of us!!

Secondly, I am forever grateful for my coworkers who are putting this event on, health care workers, doctors, my family, and everyone else I missed that has been my rock through all of this. THANK YOU!!

On the day of the run I would like to dedicate it to my transplant donor, who ever you are. You saved my life. I also wanted to dedicate it to an individual who helped me through it without even knowing me as well as the team who saved my life xo
