It Takes a Village Afrika: Supporting Families Raising Children with Autism in Ghana
Hi, I’m Nikki Pace—a travel business coach, motivational speaker, and the proud mama of Preston, my beautiful, autistic son. Our journey brought us from the U.S. to Ghana, where we’ve embraced a new chapter filled with love, purpose, and a calling that’s bigger than us.
Out of our lived experience, It Takes a Village to Raise a Child with Autism Afrika was born.
In Ghana, autism is still deeply misunderstood. Families often suffer in silence, without access to support, resources, or even acceptance. That’s why I created this NGO were not just to help the children, but to support the entire village it takes to raise them. This includes caregivers, teachers, neighbors, and advocates who all need tools, compassion, and community.
This GoFundMe will help us:
Open a local support and resource center for special needs families
Train teachers and caregivers to better understand and support neurodiverse kidsHost parent healing workshops, sibling support circles, and sensory-safe play sessions
Travel to rural areas to provide outreach, education, and tangible help
Build inclusive experiences through travel and community
As a mother, advocate, and woman living this every day, I know how isolating it can feel. But I also know the power of love, resilience, and community. That’s what we’re building here in Ghana—one village, one family at a time.
Your donation isn’t just helping my child. It’s empowering a movement.
Please share, give, or send your light. Because together, we can raise the village.
With love and gratitude,
Nikki & Preston
