Adopt-a-Home
Ready to make a difference?
Christopher Stevenson, a Prince George's County Democratic Central Committee Member, representing Legislative District 24, created the Adopt-a-Home program with the sole mission to provide resources to keep families in their homes. The goal is to raise $8,000 to provide families in Prince George's County with monetary assistance to pay for essentials such as rent/mortgage or utilities, food, weatherization assistance, laptops to ensure that children can participate in virtual learning, and personal protection equipment to stop the spread of COVID-19.
We have all seen the impact of COVID-19 across the region. You, as a member of the community, have a unique opportunity to help save lives during this devastating pandemic. Prince George’s County has the second-highest unemployment rate in the District of Columbia, Maryland, and Virginia area. This reality has drastically impacted families, many of whom are facing evictions, foreclosure, and homelessness. Despite the efforts of our local, state, and federal governments, many are having to leave behind their homes and seek refuge in local shelters.
As a community, we have seen what happens when our community unites to fight social injustices. With that in mind, a community-collective effort is all that’s needed right now to provide support to the many families facing hardships.
Thank you for your consideration,
