Help Second Harvest Feed Those in Need
As a dietitian who works in Santa Clara County, I see first hand that food insecurity is already far too common in our community. Often times it goes missed until the consequences of an inadequate diet appear in the form of malnutrition. Most of the time, people who are facing severe food insecurity are the ones who keep it to themselves, who do not share their struggles and who do not ask for help. Food insecurity does not discriminate. It can be your neighbor who you always see with frozen or fast food but never bags filled with fresh groceries. It can be your child’s favorite school friend who always ask them to share lunch or for extra snacks. It can be your coworker who doesn’t like to spend lunch breaks anywhere but in their car. They can be old, young or in between. They can be thin or obese. They can be formally educated or work in the trades or in the fields. It can be you. Know that I care. I care if you have a hot meal, your favorite treat to enjoy and a full, happy belly. As local food banks are at the brink of a surge, we can help support our community by donating.
Second Harvest of Silicon Valley work tirelessly to end hunger in our community. Every day, countless families face the harsh reality of food insecurity, and together, we can make a significant impact.
Your donation will directly support Second Harvest's mission, ensuring that no one in our community goes hungry.
