About San Diego Archaeological Center
The mission of the San Diego Archaeological Center is to curate artifacts and share them with the public in ways that they can understand and appreciate. Before the Center opened the doors over 25 years ago, there was no place for excavated artifacts to be shared with the public. Today, the Center curates 8,064 cubic feet of artifacts and associated documents - approximately 1.55 million artifacts. That's enough to fill 5 city buses. These artifacts document 12,000 years of the region's history.
