Remembering Jake
This is myself and my son John “Jake”. It will be 10yrs ago on March 29th when two marines arrived at my front door to tell me my boy was gone. This picture is from his last trip home, and he oversaw the coin toss at a Prep football game. A few months later Jake fell prey to what plagues our military. With no explanation and no warning Jake took his own life. Adding to the Mission 22 numbers. 22 military members daily committing suicide.
It takes a lot of courage to live life as a griever. Our family has done their best to accept this lifestyle. We created a scholarship fund at St Peter’s to find a way to remember Jake and help young men to receive a great educational experience as Jake did.
