Support Metro Trans Umbrella Group
On April 13, 2023, the Attorney General issued an emergency order that effectively prevents access to essential trans-related healthcare services in Missouri. This order not only endangers the physical and mental well-being of transgender individuals but also infringes upon their basic human rights. At Metro Trans Umbrella Group, we are deeply concerned about the consequences of this decision and are preparing to challenge it legally.
Needless to say, this decision came out of left field for MTUG. Our budget for the year has been set, and we have no idea yet what unexpected costs may come up as we navigate this critical moment in our fight for trans rights. Your contribution would help us cover operational costs to support the trans community during this difficult time and provide the resources necessary for us to challenge the attorney general's order in court.
Your financial support will directly contribute to our ongoing programs and services, including:
- Legal advocacy and representation for trans individuals affected by the emergency order.
- Mental health support and counseling for those experiencing increased stress and anxiety due to the order.
- Public education campaigns to raise awareness of the importance of trans-related healthcare and the negative consequences of the attorney general's decision.
- Community outreach and support services, such as food and clothing drives, to aid trans individuals in need during this challenging time.
Often, trans people and our allies can feel frozen by the uncertainty and fear, unsure of how to make a real difference in the fight for trans rights. But MTUG is doing on-the-ground work to make an impact for the trans community. Every donation, no matter how small, makes a significant difference for MTUG as we continue to fight for our rights.
