The history center is growing!
The Jefferson County History Center is a magnet for tourists and a source of pride for residents. The museum is filled with fun and educational exhibits depicting the history of Jefferson County. In addition to the museum, the Historical Society currently owns and operates two buildings used for storage and intake.
We are excited to announce a newly acquired two-story facility that will be revitalized and used to properly hold and preserve our collection of more than 60,000 artifacts. This new building will more than double our current storage capacity, allow us to properly prepare and accession new items, improve safety, and become more energy and cost efficient.
